Empowering Youth to Create Their Own Websites: A Successful Youth Exchange in N. Macedonia

The Youth Exchange activity of the project “Empowering Youth to Create Their Own Websites: Building Digital Skills and Entrepreneurial Mindsets” unfolded seamlessly from April 15th to 21st, 2024, amidst the scenic mountain resort of Popova Shapka in N. Macedonia. A total of 20 enthusiastic young participants from N. Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, and Turkey came together for this transformative experience.

The primary aim of our project was to empower youth by fostering the creation of their websites while honing their digital skills and entrepreneurial mindsets. This goal was realized through a comprehensive Youth Exchange program designed to bring together diverse youth cohorts in a structured learning environment. The program encompassed a variety of activities, including workshops, training sessions, and mentoring opportunities, all geared towards equipping participants with the necessary knowledge and skills to develop and manage their websites effectively.

Participants enthusiastically embraced this opportunity, enriching their knowledge, sharing ideas, and expanding their networks. Divided into four groups of five, each team developed a website for their unique concept, presenting it to their peers for feedback from the trainer.

Beyond the learning aspect, participants enjoyed ample networking opportunities and recreational activities. Social gatherings, intercultural nights, and visits to Tetovo allowed for cultural exchange and exploration.

Furthermore, participants savored the natural beauty of Popova Shapka, indulging in hiking and the hotel spa facilities. The unexpected snowfall during the exchange added to the excitement, especially for those from regions unaccustomed to snow, providing a memorable experience of snowball fights and winter fun.

Finally, we express gratitude to our project partners: NGO CNELL from Albania, Association WalkTogether from Bulgaria, and SALT Gençlik Derneği from Türkiye.

The project is funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union through the Macedonian National Agency for European educational programmes and mobility.
