I am Isela Hunci, a spirited 18-year-old law student, embarked on a life-changing adventure through a youth exchange program. Set amidst the picturesque landscapes and in the heart of Popova Sapka, North Macedonia. Joined by fellow adventurers from Bulgaria, Turkey, North Macedonia, and Albania, I doved headfirst into the depths of cultural exchange, seeking authenticity and building genuine connections.

In the midst of snow-capped mountains and the warmth of camaraderie, I honed invaluable skills that left an indelible mark and shaped my confidence and personal growth. Through interactive workshops and collaborative projects, I learned to navigate the rollercoaster of emotions that come with exploring a foreign country. With integrity, I embraced the beauty of diversity, enriching my understanding of different cultures, perspectives and social dynamics. My empathy deepened as I listened to the stories of my fellow participants, understanding the nuances of their backgrounds and experiences.

Amongst the pure white scenery of Popova Sapka, I found peace in the richness of human connection. From the bustling streets of Tetovo to the serene tranquility of Popova Sapka, every moment was an opportunity to be astonished and fascinated.

Throughout my stay there, I was constantly impressed by the knowledge and expertise of my peers and mentors. Whether it was discussing cultural context or brainstorming projects, like “Erasmus Balkan Bridge” website, every interaction left me feeling inspired and empowered and also left a positive impact on my journey.

Despite coming from different corners of the Europe, the participants bonded over shared values and aspirations. Whether they were building snowmen or collaborating on a cultural performance, there was a palpable sense of camaraderie that transcended language barriers. It was in these moments of unity that I felt most inspired, realizing that change truly begins with human connection.

For me, the highlight of this Youth Exchange program was the intercultural night, which was a celebration of diversity and unity unlike any other. As I danced the night away with newfound friends, I marveled at the transformative power of human connection. From the friendly staff to the delightful views of the spa and mountains, every aspect of the experience left me feeling overwhelmed with gratitude. This journey was not just a trip, it was a profound exploration of self-discovery and personal growth. Armed with newfound confidence and a broader perspective, I returned home with a renewed sense of purpose, ready to make a difference in the world and one connection at a time.
