As part of the Erasmus+ project EcoPOWER, a comprehensive and practical handbook was developed to support youth workers in addressing sustainability, energy transition, and climate-related challenges in their daily work with young people.

The EcoPOWER Handbook was created as a long-term educational resource, combining expert knowledge with practical insights gained during the international training course held in September. It provides youth workers with clear explanations of key topics such as climate change, renewable energy, energy policies, and energy poverty, while also offering concrete tools for advocacy, community engagement, and awareness-raising activities.

Designed with a non-formal education approach, the handbook includes real-life examples, simple explanations of complex concepts, and practical activities that can be easily adapted to local contexts. Its goal is to empower youth workers to become active promoters of sustainable practices and to support young people in understanding the importance of a fair and green energy transition.

The handbook was developed by an expert trainer and enriched with contributions and reflections from youth workers coming from North Macedonia, Serbia, Romania, Türkiye, and Hungary. It is intended for youth workers, NGOs, youth organisations, and anyone working with young people who wish to integrate environmental and sustainability topics into their programmes.

By making the handbook freely accessible, the EcoPOWER project ensures that its results remain useful beyond the project’s lifetime and contribute to the wider development of quality youth work across Europe.
