From 7 to 10 May 2026, ATLANTIS ESC successfully organized the main project activity, Youth Eco Academy, in Popova Shapka, bringing together 18 young participants from Tetovo and the surrounding area. The activity was implemented within the project ACT GREEN: Youth in Action for Sustainable Futures and created an inspiring space for learning, action, creativity, and connection.
During the four-day activity, participants explored the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), learned more about environmental protection and sustainability, and discussed the role of young people in creating greener and more responsible communities. Through interactive sessions and group work, they developed ideas for awareness-raising campaigns, including poster campaigns and promotional content aimed at encouraging more active youth engagement in environmental issues.
One of the most impactful parts of the programme was the plogging activity in Popova Shapka, during which participants collected a significant amount of waste from the area. This hands-on action helped participants better understand the importance of protecting nature and also highlighted the need for stronger environmental awareness and more responsible behaviour in public spaces.
In addition to the educational and outdoor components, the activity also offered valuable time for socializing, relaxation, and team bonding. Participants enjoyed the hotel’s spa centre, spent quality time together, and built new friendships that made the entire experience even more meaningful.
The training sessions on sustainable development were led by Milan Stojanović, engaged by ATLANTIS ESC as an external expert for the Youth Eco Academy. ATLANTIS ESC expresses sincere gratitude for his expertise, energy, and dedication, which helped participants better understand sustainability, the SDGs, and the importance of youth action for a better future.
ATLANTIS ESC would also like to express its sincere appreciation to the Adriatic-Ionian Euroregion for the support provided through the Gear-UP! initiative. This support made it possible to create a valuable learning experience for young people from the Tetovo region, combining education, environmental action, creativity, and active participation.
